Let me hear what you think about our cover.Meera Vasudevan is Co-founder of Preferred Brands International, a Connecticut-based food company that makes Tasty Bite, a range of natural, ethnic food sold in major supermarkets around the world. I decided to do a b/w-video which fits to the song title and atmosphere IMO. I ended up with a 2mm Dunlop Gator Grip which has the least amount of chirping and a good tone for single note picking. I also tried various plectrums for the acoustic guitar recording. I have already reduced it in the mixing process. On the acoustic guitar I had quite a bit of string noise.
So there is some free (lower) frequency space for the piano and the acoustic guitar. In addition to the piano and the acoustic guitar, I recorded a bit of strings, e-piano and organ here and there as well. I have added a guitar part to this cover which hopefully fits into the song. The song arrangement and the instrumentation of the original song is outstanding and very decent. We probably will do some more song projects with him in the near future. Without exaggeration, I think my Vocal Duo partner performs this song pretty decent.Īnd we were lucky to find a good piano player for this recording.
Nevertheless I think this song has its own fan club. It is not one of the most popular songs from Uriah Heep.
I remember, sitting in front of my crappy record player somewhere in the early 70s listening to that epic Rock ballad from Uriah Heep in an infinite loop.
